A Personal Note

I still remember opening a fresh box of reeds before a concert — hoping to find one that actually played well. The first was too resistant. The second? Unstable. The third? Maybe usable… but not great.

That's when it hit me: there are always only about three good reeds in the box — so I started thinking outside of it.

As a clarinetist and teacher, I've seen how much time, money, and frustration go into reeds that just don't play well — even though they should. It made me wonder: what if this process could be smarter, more consistent, and less wasteful?

That's why I started ReedFinder. It's my way of helping you skip the guesswork and discover reeds that actually feel right — more often, with less trial and error.
